This site lets you see how fast you write and play against other players to see who writes faster than you are being shown on the screen. The little game is quite addictive and since you also serves to give you an idea of how fast you are typing or writing if you can not see the keyboard. You must be very attentive to the screen all the time because if you were wrong in any letter or punctuation mark does not let you continue typing what you lose over time (if further mistakes and keyboard).
The site is fairly simple and keeps statistics on the races you've participated, unfortunately for those who do not speak English, since it makes us a little more (hopefully soon take out the Spanish version) was my highest percentage (in 5 races I participated) 32 words per minute and at that race I finished in last place ![]()
Try it, you'll have fun and also offers practice you ![]()
Very informative post.
I'm Spanish, and the page is very well ... but I would also like in Spanish, and that instead of showing the WPM (words per minute) showed in turn PPM (beats per minute).
I say this because in Spanish the words are slightly longer than in English. Well there is everything, but usually are.
In English my maximum was 147 WPM, but in Spanish have been about 90. But the pulse come to be the same (550 approx.). I learned to type as a child using the QWERTY system, and now I'm trying to Dvorak, I read that this system is much more balanced at the time of writing. But of course, also takes time to learn and achieve very high speed. I for now I'll settle the QWERTY layout (but the day that I have children to teach them to type with both types of keyboards, it's as if we teach two different languages, English and Spanish for example)
Finally, there is something that I really like this site. When exceed 100WPM (words per minute) asks you to do more testing to verify that you really can achieve this speed, is another text that you have to write and you must be at least 70-80% of the output that you obtained previously. The only downside is that it was a last minute change, why some "wise guys" used to cheat programillas hackers, making records and fastest typists are placed in doubt. I'm not saying that you can not achieve the 180-190 WPM, but I have seen that there are many people who have achieved the 200 and even exceeded, but not one more than one ... and I would reach this level! ahem!
Highly recommend this site to all people, who have no idea to write, those who know something, and those are some machines on this site ... there is always someone better than you ... always!
